How to Get to Magazia 1 During the Days of Giro d’Italia in Burgas

We’re ready to guide all adventurers to the island! 🩷

🩷 May 6 – There are no restrictions for traveling to Magazia 1. You only need to avoid the closed streets “Adam Mickiewicz” and “24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment” from Avtototo to the Pantheon.

🩷 May 7 – There are also no restrictions. You just need to avoid the closed streets “Adam Mickiewicz” and “Demokratsia” between “San Stefano” and “Kiril and Metodiy”.

🩷 May 8 – This is the Nessebar–Burgas stage (marked in pink on the map).

Since the route passes through “Bulair” and “Ivan Vazov”, which are main access points to the Magazia area, we strongly recommend not entering this zone by car. Traffic police will close the roads from 11:00 AM, and vehicles may be blocked until the cyclists pass.

We recommend parking in the city center and continuing on foot beyond “Bulair” and “Ivan Vazov”.

🩷 May 9 – This is the Burgas–Veliko Tarnovo stage (marked in purple).

Access to Magazia remains open, but there will be difficulties along “Aleksandrovska”, “Ivan Vazov” (near the railway station), and “Hristo Botev”, as the route continues toward “Trapezitsa”, the University Hospital, and “Stefan Stambolov”, effectively dividing the city in two. Road closures begin as early as 6:00 AM.

If you are coming from the west side of the route (e.g., Meden Rudnik), park in “Vazrazhdane” and continue on foot.

If you are coming from “Slaveykov”, take “Yakim Yakimov” → “Kraiezernа” → “Sportna”, then park in “Vazrazhdane”.

If you are coming from the east side of “Hristo Botev” and the following boulevards, you should have no issues reaching Magazia 1.

From “Izgrev” and “Zornitsa”, use “24th Infantry Regiment”, “Demokratsia”, and “Bulair”.
