Evangelical Pentecostal Church
Evangelical Pentecostal Church – Burgas was founded in 1920 by the Ukrainian missionary Dionysius Zaplishny /link/. The first Pentecostal church in Bulgaria was born in the Black Sea city, where Christ's teaching of salvation through the Bible was boldly preached. The community of believers grew rapidly and the church moved from a private home to a rented hall located next to the district court building in the city. In the process of serving, a number of Christ followers from the church received a call to dedication in the work of the gospel. Led by the Spirit of God, dozens of ministers, most of whom with pastoral anointing, gradually left the EPC-Burgas, founding new churches or heading already established ones throughout the country. Others left the country and dedicated themselves to the work far from their homeland. The country-famous Christian media, the magazine “Blagovestitel” and the newspaper “Blagovremie”, were founded in the Burgas Pentecostal church.
