Themed weekends in Burgas: It's time again for festivals, cinema, sports and literature

Summer in Burgas starts in May, and with it the well-preserved brand of thematic weekends. This year they will once again pass under the sign of emotional and energizing events that turn the seaside city into an epicenter of good mood. The favorite format of Bulgarian and foreign tourists will pass under the sign of the city's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032.

This summer again the months of April, May and June, as well as the wings of the season in September and October, will be filled with concerts, running marathons, literary formats.

Traditionally, a strong emphasis will be placed on the months of July and August, when Burgas is a festival city with open stages under the stars.

Here is the program for thematic weekends 2026 at the moment:

19-25.05 - Days of Letters (with a highlight event on May 24 - Day of Slavic Writing and Culture and a festive procession)

29-31.05 – Fun and Sun Weekend (with a highlight event Biodiversity Carnival)

04-08.06 – Worlds of Words (with a highlight event: FARA Creative Industry Festival and Black Sea International Literary Festival)

12-14.06 - The Pulse of Traditions (with a highlight event "People of the Cote d'Azur")

19-21.06 – Paella Weekend (with Sole festival as the highlight event)

24-27.06 – Weekend “Let it be Summer” (with a highlight event: Choir Festival for mixed and homogeneous choirs)
