The Carnival Procession "Inhabitants of the Sea" Kicks Off the Children's Weekend in Burgas

The Carnival Procession "Inhabitants of the Sea" Kicks Off the Children's Weekend in Burgas

Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation and Burgas Municipality are organizing one of the most colorful and inspiring events for children in the city – the traditional children's carnival procession, which in 2026 will take place under the motto: "The Inhabitants of the Sea"

This year the carnival will take place on May 29, 2026 (Friday) at 5:00 PM and will be dedicated to the richness and beauty of the Black Sea. We invite all children from Burgas kindergartens and primary school classes to parade in costumes of sea animals, plants, birds, ships, lighthouses, waves, dunes, beaches, fishermen, and ecosystems related to the Black Sea and the Burgas region.

Burgas is a city that lives with the sea – it inspires our culture, our nature and our everyday life. Through this carnival we want children to learn about the richness of the Black Sea, its inhabitants and the need to keep it clean and alive.

The procession will begin with a festive parade from the Burgas Municipality building along Bogoridi Street to the Sea Garden, so that residents and guests of the city can enjoy the colorful costumes and imagination of the participants.

The final will be at the "Snail" Summer Stage, where all participants will walk across the stage and perform in front of the audience.

The event aims to encourage children's imagination and raise awareness about the importance

of marine nature and the need for its protection.

At the end of the event, awards will be presented in various categories, including for the most effective costume, the most original "green" costume, and the strongest environmental message.

Come and share this colorful initiative dedicated to children, the sea and nature!
