Burgas and the region prepare the Black Sea coast for Eurovision 2027

The Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov and the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov met in the fishing village of Chengene Skele, where they discussed preparations for Eurovision 2027, the possibilities for promoting the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and the upcoming tourist season.

The two also presented the meeting as an opportunity to show the authentic atmosphere and cuisine of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Dimitar Nikolov recalled that there is an old agreement between him and the minister, related to the rivalry between Varna and Burgas for tourist interest.

According to Dimitrov, the meeting is an opportunity to show the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and its authentic cuisine, but also to set the stage for broader cooperation between the coastal municipalities. The hosting of Eurovision 2027 took a special place in the conversation. Dimitrov congratulated Burgas on the choice and described the event as an opportunity for the entire region.

The Minister announced that over 100,000 airline seats have been secured for the tourist season by two airlines for German tourists, with another 50,000 expected.

According to him, this will allow the season to start earlier, with Easter and Eurovision being among the events that can attract tourists even before the active summer season.

It also became clear that Chengene Skele will be included in the events surrounding Eurovision. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov recalled the development of the fishing village in recent years. According to him, today the place attracts foreign tourists and is among the authentic faces of Burgas.

The Minister of Tourism explained that it is precisely such places that should be shown to international guests during Eurovision. Over 1,000 journalists are expected to arrive in Bulgaria. Dimitrov expressed confidence that Bulgaria can present Eurovision at a high level.

The mayor of Burgas said that preparations for the competition are underway in several areas – the hall, the necessary infrastructure and future events in the region.

Regarding the tourist season, the minister indicated that the final data is still pending, but the trend is positive.
