Central Beach

Stretching for nearly 2 kilometres with a golden sandy shoreline, the Central Beach in Burgas is a favourite destination for both visitors and residents of the city. Whether for relaxation or leisure, the beach is a pleasant and wonderful spot for swimming and sunbathing under the warm rays of the sun. The Central Beach draws visitors not only with its expansive strip of sand, reaching up to 30 metres in width, but also with its prime location. It lies in close proximity to the Burgas Lighthouse, as well as to one of the greenest and most pleasant places in the city — the Sea Garden. Throughout the year, both the park and the beach are quite lively and are well worth a visit. It is here that Bulgaria's largest music festival, Spirit of Burgas, is held each year, bringing together large audiences and artists from around the world. The Central Beach also serves as the arena for a number of prestigious sporting tournaments of national and international significance. The beach is kept clean and maintained using specialised equipment, so that both locals and visitors can fully enjoy their time there. The safety of beachgoers is overseen by qualified lifeguards who monitor the shoreline from specially constructed observation posts. For the convenience and comfort of visitors, the Central Beach is equipped with showers and changing facilities, while sunbeds and parasols are provided free of charge. The beach also features volleyball, football and beach tennis courts, where more energetic visitors can enjoy some sport under the sun and add a healthy and entertaining dimension to their stay.
