Monument to the Genocide of the Armenian People

In the courtyard of the Armenian Church of the Holy Cross in Burgas stands a monument in memory of the victims of the genocide of the Armenian people. The sculpture was created in 1990 by Hari Norhayik Arabian. The Armenian Genocide was deliberately carried out by the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1918, and is characterized by mass massacres and the forced mass deportation of over 1,000,000 Armenians.
