
Burgas Artists' Society
Opening hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 10:30 – 18:30 Closed: Sunday and Monday The Burgas Artists' Society was founded in 1956. As of 2017, it counts over 100 artists among its members. Over the years, 16 individuals have held the position of chairman. The current chairman is Mitko Ivanov. The Society participates in the Biennial of Contemporary Bulgarian Art "Friends of the Sea," which was revived in 2004 after a 20-year hiatus. The paintings from the biennial are exhibited in the exhibition hall of the Burgas Artists' Society and the "Petko Zadgorski" City Art Gallery in Burgas. The activities of the Society's members include the traditional exhibition on 24 May, at which the "Young Artist" award in the name of Rusi Stoyanov is presented, a group exhibition on 6 December — St. Nicholas Day and the feast day of Burgas — at which the "Artist of the Year" award is presented, as well as numerous other group and individual exhibitions.
