Art Gallery Sozopol

The Art Gallery is housed in a building listed as a cultural monument — the "Old School." The permanent exhibition is spread across two floors and includes approximately 300 works — paintings, graphics and sculpture. Particularly noteworthy is the collection of paintings by Prof. Alexander Mutafov, one of the first Bulgarian marine painters. A dedicated hall presents the "Old Sozopol" collection, featuring works by Sozopol artists Yani Hrisopulos and Petar Katerkov. Also on display are works by Georgi Bozhilov — Slona, Nikolay Shmirgel, Georgi Baev, K. Karamfilov, Gredi Assa, Ivan Bahchevanov and other distinguished Bulgarian artists. A specially designated hall exhibits paintings and personal belongings of Yorgos Gounaropoulos, who was born in Sozopol. Opening hours: June – September: 10:00 – 18:00, no days off October – May: 8:30 – 12:45 and 13:30 – 17:00, closed Saturday and Sunday
