Night of Literature
“Night of Literature” 2026 Brings Burgas Readers Together Under the Open Sky On October 1, Burgas will welcome the fifteenth edition of “Night of Literature” under the stars — all readings will take place outdoors, surrounded by the sea air, the city lights, and the real night sky. Seven contemporary European books will be presented at seven different locations, which will become our literary nests for a few hours. Actors, writers, and members of the city’s cultural community will read excerpts from works from Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Ireland, Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden in iconic urban spaces — close to the sea, close to culture, close to people. This year, we are reading outdoors because we believe literature sounds most powerful under the open sky. The readings begin at 6:00 p.m. In each “literary nest,” the same excerpt from the featured book will be read every half hour, at: 🕕 6:00 p.m. | 🕡 6:30 p.m. | 🕖 7:00 p.m. | 🕢 7:30 p.m. | 🕗 8:00 p.m. | 🕣 8:30 p.m. | 🕘 9:00 p.m. Each nest will feature one book, and visitors will be able to move from one location to another and create their own literary route. Come and welcome the Night of Literature together in Burgas — under the stars, among words, and in the company of seven captivating stories. Admission is free!
