Stage 1 on May 8 – when and where you can watch Giro d’Italia in Burgas!

A big day for Burgas today — the legendary Giro d’Italia passes twice through the seaside city before finishing this afternoon under a specially built arch on Democracy Boulevard, right next to the intersection with Gurko Street.

Within the territory of Burgas Municipality, the race caravan will pass through the following streets and sections:

Sarafovo district from the direction of Pomorie toward Burgas (via “The Trumpet”) to the roundabout at Transportna Street and Dimitar Dimov Boulevard.

Inside the city, the route continues in the following order:

Dimitar Dimov St. → 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment St. → Democracy Blvd. → Bulair St. → Ivan Vazov St. → overpass toward Chernomorets Stadium → Sportna St. → Todor Alexandrov Blvd. (toward the exit for Sozopol) → the entire road to Sozopol through the town itself, Kavatsi, Duni, Driver’s Beach, turning around at Alepu Marsh → return toward Sozopol and again along the intercity road Sozopol–Burgas → entering Burgas via Todor Alexandrov Blvd. → Sportna St. → overpass from Chernomorets Stadium to Ivan Vazov St. → Station Square → Bulair St. → Democracy Blvd. (via “The Mushroom”) → FINISH at Democracy Blvd. (near the Professional Transport High School).

Special tents with official Giro d’Italia merchandise will be located near the finish area in Burgas. Visitors will find T-shirts, caps, backpacks, water bottles, and other attractive souvenirs to remember this historic day.

SCREENS

Municipality of Burgas is creating an even more festive atmosphere for residents and visitors by installing a 4.5 × 2.5 meter screen in front of the municipality building.

The stages of the Giro d’Italia on May 8 and 9 will be broadcast live there, giving people more opportunities to enjoy the event together and support the participants. The municipality invites all residents and guests of the city to join this exciting open-air experience.

The entire race will be broadcast on Eurosport and HBO Max.

Areas around the start and finish are closed to the public.

Walking is recommended, as streets and parking areas around the start and finish zones will be closed.

Do not cross the cycling lane, especially before the start and finish of the race.

Do not leave hanging objects that could catch on the cyclists.
