The tourist sites managed by the Municipal Enterprise “Tourism” of the Municipality of Burgas have prepared a special program for the European Night of Museums, which will take place in Burgas and the surrounding region on May 16.

The museum on St. Anastasia Island will welcome visitors with free admission. The exhibition is dedicated to the saint who is the patron of both the monastery and the island itself. The museum showcases archaeological artifacts from the Southern Black Sea coast, silver treasures, and finds from underwater excavations. On May 16, boats to the island will depart from Burgas Port Passenger Terminal at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. More information is available by phone at +359 88 200 4124.

The Chengene Skele Tourist Complex will also open its doors to all sea lovers and those interested in the traditions of Burgas fishermen. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to explore the exhibitions in the huts “Taifa,” “Buruntiya,” and “Euxine Pont” free of charge. Guided talks will be held at 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM.

Equally interesting surprises await the public at the Aquae Calidae Tourist Complex. For the first time, the newest discoveries from recent archaeological excavations will be displayed, including coins, seals, and metal and ceramic objects. The site will remain open until 7:00 PM, including both the exhibition area and the spa center.

The Aviation Museum Burgas in the Sarafovo district has prepared an exceptionally rich program. At 6:00 PM, the interactive game “The Road to the Legends of Balkan” will begin. Over the course of an hour and a half, participants will follow a secret route among the aviation exhibits, deciphering hidden messages and mysterious clues. Everyone who successfully completes all stages will reach the final message and receive a prize. The game is suitable for children over 12 years old and adults, combining fun with an exploration of aviation history.

At 7:00 PM, a lecture titled “Night Flights – Aircraft and Humans in the Dark” will be held, presenting little-known facts and fascinating aspects of piloting in limited visibility. The lecture will take place inside the Tupolev Tu-154 passenger aircraft.

At 8:00 PM, the program will continue with an interactive science show for children. The space-themed performance, featuring liquid nitrogen and other impressive experiments, will spark young visitors’ interest in science.
