"Changing Season" by Stanislav Pamukchiev
Water and sky, winds, shores, clouds and rains lose their outlines to become "views of the soul". Stanislav Pamukchiev presents in Burgas his new exhibition "Changing Season", created especially for the space of the "Spring" gallery. The exhibition can be viewed until October 23 in the gallery at 32 Lermontov Street. The new series includes abstract landscape and figurative paintings in which nature is the starting point, but not the final destination. The original landscape motif is highly transformed and abstracted – water, sky, wind, vapors and clouds dissolve into diffuse light, layers of color and soft, almost weightless spaces. The titles themselves – “Dry Season”, “Cold”, “Warm Wind”, “Blue Evening”, “Breath, It’s Quiet”, “Red Cloud”, “On the Water”, “The Shadow of the Cloud” – suggest the direction of the exhibition. Natural states become metaphors of emotional, mental and spiritual movement. In these paintings, Pamukchiev explores the transition between light and dark, dense and transparent, nameable and unnameable, borderline and boundless. Thus, the landscape gradually ceases to be a specific place and becomes an internal territory – changeable, indefinite and sometimes dreamy. At the center of the exhibition are two self-portraits that bring a human presence to this almost disembodied environment and personalize the emotional states that accompany the creative act. The composition "In the Studio" takes us even further - to the drama and exaltation of the very creation of art. "A Changing Season" conveys a sense of movement that never reaches a final form. The painting here does not narrate the landscape, but uses it as a language for that which is difficult to name. Light, matter, color, and gesture superimpose and recede as the seasons and human states change. The exhibition takes the viewer along a peculiar shore of the known and the unknown, where poetic sadness meets the horizon of expectation. "A Changing Season" is an invitation to stay there for a while – in the moment of change, before one state turns into another.
