Burgas offers excellent transportation connections and serves as a hub for bus transportation in the region. This makes it easily accessible from all parts of the district, the country, and the region. Infrastructure in Burgas and the region is being modernized to ensure fast and seamless travel for all tourists. Burgas is the starting and ending point of the Trakia Highway (A1). It provides a direct high-speed connection between Burgas, Sofia, and the rest of the national highway network.
There are two bus stations in Burgas: South Bus Station and West Bus Station (click on the name to view their locations). South Bus Station is located in the heart of the city, right next to the Burgas train station, while West Bus Station is farther from the center but is served by several city bus lines (primarily lines 11 and 12)
South Bus Station handles most of the bus routes connecting the city to the surrounding Black Sea municipalities, Varna, Plovdiv, and Sofia, as well as connections to Istanbul.
Sofia / Plovdiv / Stara Zagora
Several companies (Union Ivkoni and Karat S) operate routes to Burgas. In Burgas, they stop at the South Bus Terminal. In the opposite direction, buses to Sofia depart from Sector 2 of the terminal.
Istanbul
Three companies operate routes to Burgas — Metro, Arda Tour, and Nişikli. All three companies have offices at the South Bus Terminal and stop there upon arrival in the city. When traveling from Burgas to Istanbul, they usually stop at Sector 2. In Istanbul, the bus station where buses to and from Burgas stop is Bayrampaşa-Esenler. Some of them stop at Istanbul Airport
Varna
Transportation to and from Varna is provided by small minibuses that cover the distance between the two cities in about 2 hours, traveling along the route Varna Bus Station – Obzor – Burgas South Bus Station. Departures are typically every hour. For the route from Burgas to Varna, departures are from Sector 2.
If you are coming from Varna Airport, take bus 409 from the Varna public transit network to reach the bus station, from which you can depart for Burgas.
Sunny Beach / Nessebar
Transportation between Burgas and Sunny Beach operates on two routes:
- Burgas – Pomorie – Aheloy – Ravda – Nessebar Old Town – Nessebar New Town – Sunny Beach
- Burgas – Kableshkovo – Aheloy – Nesebar (New Town) – Sunny Beach
The terminal stops are the same: South Bus Station in Burgas and Sunny Beach Bus Station.
Buses run every 20 minutes, alternating between the two routes. The interval between buses on each route is 40 minutes.
From Burgas, the bus departs from Sector 3 of the South Bus Terminal.

Pomorie
On the route from Burgas to Pomorie, two companies operate a total of 30 trips daily. Services run from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., every half hour, with the starting bus stop in Burgas (and the corresponding terminus in the opposite direction) at South Bus Station — Sector 4 — and the terminus in Pomorie—city center.

Sozopol
There are 32 daily trips between Burgas and Sozopol, with a 30-minute interval between them. The first trip on the route departs from Sector 5 of the South Bus Station at 5:00 a.m., and the last one at 9:30 p.m. The route also passes through the town of Chernomorets.

Primorsko
Two companies operate minibus service between Burgas and Primorsko, with vehicles seating 17 to 20 passengers. In Burgas, the starting/ending point is the South Bus Station—Sector 6.
