Burgas Central Railway Station is located in the centre of the city, at the beginning of the main street of the city Aleksandrovska, on the square "Tsaritsa Yoana" (also called Station Square). The location is key - close to the Sea Garden, not far from the Marine Station, Central Beach and Port of Burgas. Right next to the station is Bus station "South" with lines to all settlements on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, Varna and Burgas Airport. Construction of the building began in 1908, and in 1922 Burgas railway station was opened and entered into exploatation. It was also among the first railway stations in Bulgaria. In the 1970s the building was declared an architectural monument. The construction of today's Burgas railway station was carried out in several stages by the architects Nikola Kostov and Kiril Marichkov. In their project they combined the modern style with elements of baroque and secession.
