What can you expect in Burgas during the last weekend of August?

We are sending off the last weekend of August with a series of events filled with emotions and good mood. The program brings together musical performances, art and sports activities, offering diverse experiences for the city's residents and guests.

On August 28 at 6:00 PM, the seventh edition of the international music and dance festival “Veleka Fest” will begin. The open-air stage “Ohlyuva” will be bustling with music and traditions of different countries and peoples.

At 7:00 PM, the Alma Alter Theater-Laboratory will be visiting Burgas with the author's musical "Yan Bibiyan". The production offers a contemporary stage interpretation of Elin Pelin's beloved novel and is aimed at audiences of all ages. The musical will take place on the alley in front of the Burgas Summer Theater.

At 8:00 PM, one of the brightest pianists on the contemporary classical scene will be a guest in Burgas at the NHK Cultural Center. In "The Magic of the Piano," Alexander Gindin will present a concert in which virtuosity, musical sensitivity, and emotion intertwine in perfect harmony.

On August 29 at 9:30 a.m., a cycling tour “Cycling Summer 2026” will take place. The tour starts from the lighthouse tower, Burgas port, will pass through the Poda protected area and will end in Chengene Skele. The return will take place by boat from Chengene Skele to Magazia 1.

A big dose of laughter awaits you this evening in the comedy "About Love... The Male Version". "The Male Version... About Love" is an amazingly funny and heartbreakingly candid conversation between four men about happiness, excitement, jealousy, alcohol, longing and everything that we never dare to say, but that really excites us. The event will take place from 7:30 PM at the NHK Cultural Center.

On August 29 and 30, Burgas will be part of the annual cycling tour of Bulgaria. The international cycling tour of Bulgaria will transform the country's roads into an arena of high speeds and immense endurance, where elite cyclists from around the world will compete in tough mountain stages and speed sprints, fighting with gusto for the prestigious yellow jersey under the thunderous applause of the audience.

On Sunday (August 30) at 7:00 PM, the Sunday Horishte returns to the balustrade in front of the "Sea Casino" CC to bring people together around Bulgarian folklore and show that traditions can be alive, shared and a natural part of modern urban life.

At the same time, André Rieu's traditional summer concert from Maastricht - "Vive Maastricht! 2026" will be broadcast exclusively on the big screen in Burgas. The new concert, filmed on the emblematic Vreithof Square in the hometown of the world-famous violinist.

The weekend will end with a concert by the Bulgarian band “Molets”. The “Wherever…” tour is coming to Burgas three years after their last concert. The band will present their new album “Chapel”. Tickets are available at Eventim and at the Chasovnika box office.
