Music, memories and freedom - "Burgas Blues Fest" is here again

After more than a decade of absence, Burgas Blues Fest will once again gather blues music fans by the sea. On August 21, 2026, the open stage next to Flora in the Sea Garden will welcome musicians and audiences for a long-awaited return, which brings not only musical emotions, but also a strong message of memory, continuity and respect for the people who created the festival.

The revival of the event is dedicated to the unforgettable Burgas musician Plamen Stavrev - the man many define as the heart and soul of Burgas blues. Together with Stefan and Sonya Koradovi, he initiated the festival in 1994, turning it into one of the emblems of the musical life in Burgas.

Today, years after the last edition, the festival is back thanks to the efforts of Mariyana Dobreva-Veleva – vocalist, composer, instrumentalist of the band "Silhouette" and long-time organizer of cultural events. Her idea is not only to restore the festival, but also to preserve its history for future generations.

In this regard, the official Facebook page of "Burgas Blues Fest" is now operational, which will collect archival photos, videos, posters and memories from all editions of the festival over the years. The organizers invite musicians, fans and friends of the blues to share their personal stories and materials to become part of the general archive of the event.

"Burgas Blues Fest" has always been more than a concert. It is a meeting of people united by the love of music, free spirit and friendship. It is this spirit that the festival aims to bring back to the stage in 2026.

The first announced participant is Vasko Krypkata – a legend of Bulgarian blues and one of the artists who left a bright mark in the history of the festival. The remaining Bulgarian and international performers are expected to be announced soon.

Entrance to the festival will be free, and Burgas will once again welcome the blues where it belongs - among the sea breeze, its friends and loyal fans.
