Bulgaria Air Increases Flights to Burgas for Eurovision 2027

The national carrier is adapting its schedule between Sofia and Burgas in response to the expected heightened interest in the international music competition

DARA’s and Bulgaria’s victory at Eurovision, along with the country’s upcoming hosting of the competition in 2027, is a source of national pride and an opportunity for Bulgaria to welcome visitors from across Europe. As the national carrier, Bulgaria Air welcomes this success and, in response to the anticipated increased demand for travel to Burgas, will increase the frequency of its flights on the Sofia–Burgas–Sofia route, adapting its schedule during the competition period.

Between 2 and 19 May 2027, up to two daily flights will operate on the Sofia–Burgas–Sofia route. Additional afternoon services will complement the regular evening flights between the two cities in the days leading up to the competition, providing convenient connections for passengers arriving on international flights at Sofia Airport.

In the days following the final, the schedule will also include morning flights from Burgas to Sofia, tailored to the expected return passenger flow and offering convenient onward connections to international flights from the capital.

The adapted schedule will make travel to Burgas easier for spectators, guests, media representatives and everyone planning to visit the coastal city during one of the biggest international music events of 2027. Passengers travelling via Sofia will also be able to benefit from Bulgaria Air’s international network of more than 20 destinations across Europe and the Middle East.

Flights on the route will be operated with the Airbus A220 - the latest-generation aircraft in Bulgaria Air’s fleet, offering a high level of comfort, more personal space and modern amenities for passengers in both Economy and Business Class.

The additional frequencies to Burgas in May 2027 will be available for booking from 25 August 2026. Tickets can be purchased through Bulgaria Air’s official website - www.air.bg and mobile app, at the airline’s offices in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as through its partner agency network.

Hosting Eurovision 2027 will place Burgas and Bulgaria in the spotlight of the international music community and is expected to attract visitors from across the country and Europe. By adapting its flight schedule, Bulgaria Air will contribute to improving the coastal city’s transport connectivity and ensuring a comfortable journey for the guests Bulgaria will welcome during the event.
