Stories About Friends: Short Cinema at the Library

Summer is here — and it’s time for friends. This new, powerful program focuses on themes such as adventure, jealousy, competition, love, memories, and other complex and contradictory aspects of friendship, which are beautifully explored in short cinema. The selection includes five films, three of which are Bulgarian. 🎬 First highlight: “Love on Different Topics” A film by Georgi Martev, known for “From Here to There.” A long-awaited reunion of three childhood best friends is marked by unexpected events and forgotten feelings. 🎬 Second highlight: “Don’t Follow the Light” By Dobri Petrov. Two friends, Ivan and Georgi, take a shortcut through a swamp against all common sense. When they find an abandoned lantern glowing in the dark, curiosity draws them toward something mysterious. 🎬 Third highlight: “Boni and Leni” By director Svetla Tsotsorkova. A wealthy boy falls in love with Boni, a teenage girl from the outskirts of the city. To test his love, Leni — the girl’s older sister — subjects him to a humiliating challenge. Will he succeed or fail? Even in love, rich and poor speak different languages. 🎟️ Admission: Free 🟡 Not suitable for children 📽️ More info: Program details
