Festival of Youth in Art seeks fresh poetry for literary matinee
Poetic works created by young authors in recent months will be performed on the last day of the Festival of Youth in Art, organized by the Municipality of Burgas and the branch of the National Academy of Arts in the city. The eighth edition will take place from October 12 to 17 and will once again include students and pupils with performances in the fields of fine arts, literature, cinema and music. This year the festival has a subtheme: "The Emotion of Eurovision in Burgas" and the challenge is mainly aimed at artists in the field of visual arts. In the eighth edition, the selection of literary works will be on a competitive basis. Students from Burgas secondary schools, students from higher education institutions and art branches in the city, as well as other young people up to the age of 25 can send their works to the following e-mail address: artfest2026@abv.bg . Deadline – October 12. Up to three poetic works and 1 short story with a maximum length of 3 printed pages, Times New Roman 12 are accepted. There is no limit to the topic. If the upcoming hosting of the major musical event inspires you for a literary work, send us your proposal. The approved authors will be included in a creative writing workshop under the guidance of the poet Lyubov Dzhungurova and will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the artists. Part of the joint work with mentors will be a proposal for a name for each painting, as well as creating a text based on a painting chosen by them. Phrases from literary works will be woven into some of the paintings, if possible. The first attempts at a synthesis between the two arts were made in last year's edition. The installations of works by students and their teachers have already become a trademark of the Festival of Youth in Art. They will be presented on the final day, October 17, along with a literary matinee, which will begin at 11 a.m. in one of the halls of the DAS Marina Hotel, a traditional partner of the festival.
