This year’s edition features two major favorites who are also fan favorites among cycling enthusiasts worldwide:
On one side is Jonas Vingegaard, the Danish “terminator” from Team Visma | Lease a Bike. A two-time Tour de France winner and the reigning Vuelta a España champion, he is aiming to become only the eighth rider in history to win all three Grand Tours. Calm, methodical, and devastatingly strong in the mountains and time trials, for him the Giro is more than just another race—it is the final piece of the puzzle.
On the other side is Giulio Pellizzari, the 22-year-old Italian “volcano” from Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe. Young, aggressive, with pure climbing talent and enormous heart, he has just won the Tour of the Alps with two stage victories and solo attacks that made Italy speak of a new national hero. For him, the pink jersey is a dream—and a home Giro is the chance to become the star everyone has been waiting for.
One comes to dominate.
The other to dream, to attack, and to make history.
And it all begins here, on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast!
Who will be wearing the pink jersey in Rome three weeks from now?
