Yacht Club "Port Burgas"

Yacht Club "Port Burgas" was founded on 26 November 1976 by a group of enthusiasts — workers and employees of the Port of Burgas. The idea of establishing a yacht club at the Port of Burgas was first conceived in 1975 by the former port director, Captain Nikola Runev. Over the years, the competitors of Yacht Club "Port Burgas" have claimed more than one hundred and fifty national titles, while the number of podium finishes achieved at other sailing events is beyond count. Thanks to the successes of its sailors, Yacht Club "Port Burgas" has secured a leading position among sailing clubs in Bulgaria and has dominated all sailing classes developed within the club for over 25 years. Particularly telling is the fact that more than half of the members of the national teams in the Optimist class and the Olympic classes 470 and Laser are sailors from Yacht Club "Port Burgas."
