Holy Mother of God
4.8
The Church of the Holy Mother of God is one of the few monuments of Christian architecture dating back to the beginning of the Turkish rule in the Bulgarian lands. Historical documents testify to its existence in 1482. The church is interesting not only as an architectural solution. The most remarkable features of its interior are the magnificent wood carvings on the ambo, the bishop's throne, and the altar iconostasis, which separates the altar from the nave of the church. It expresses the harmony of the Divine world.
