Church of the Holy Savior

The church was built in 1609, funded by a wealthy citizen of Nesebar during the tenure of Metropolitan Kiprian—a fact visitors can discover for themselves from the donor inscription above the southern entrance. The interior is entirely covered with frescoes created by an unknown master in the early 17th century. Scenes from the lives of Christ and the Virgin Mary are depicted on the walls, while the remarkable composition "The Virgin—Wider than the Heavens" (featuring the Christ Child) stands out in the apse.
