Burgas Atanasovska kosa (Atanasov Sandbar) Beach
Burgas Atanasovska kosa is one of the most secluded and tranquil beaches in the Burgas area. It is located further north of the North Beach, in the vicinity of Atanasovsko Lake — one of the few places in Bulgaria where you can enjoy spa treatments under the open sky. In recent years the beach has become quite popular among those who prefer to avoid large crowds and sunbathe undisturbed. It's also known as 'Evin plaj" (Eve's Beach). Kite and windsurfing enthusiasts are also drawn to the peacefulness of The Salt pans, making it their chosen spot to practise their favourite sport. The beach strip is covered in black sand, which during the summer heats up so intensely that it is almost impossible to walk on barefoot — though in return it is clean and fine-grained. You are welcome to follow the example of the locals, for whom it is a pleasure after a long working day to treat themselves to a few therapeutic procedures, then rinse off in the sea and catch some sun. This is deeply relaxing and reinvigorates all who experience the healing gifts of nature — mud, brine, sunshine and sea water.
