The Pantheon
The Pantheon in the Sea Garden is one of the emblematic monuments of Burgas. It was built in 1981 as a monument in honor of the fallen anti-fascists. Until the changes in 1989, an "eternal flame" burned in the central part, and the building was guarded by soldiers who were on duty around the clock. The author of the monument is the sculptor Valentin Starchev, and the urban planning designer is architect Vladimir Milkov. Today, the Pantheon is known primarily as a meeting place and assembly point for most high school graduates during the May balls.
