“Pomorie - ancient romantic, eternal” was founded with the name Anhialo in the 4th century BC. The strategic location determined Pomorie as one of the most important Black Sea towns on the Bulgarian lands. The ancient Thracians called the Pomorie Salt Lake "sacred". They have knew that from the bottom of the lake to its surface there were healing mysterious ingredients. Even nowadays the lake is often considered to be "sacred" by people whose illness has relieved. The truth about this wonder lies in the mud and lye extracted from it.
