Youth Cultural Center - Burgas
The Youth Cultural Center in the city of Burgas was opened in the fall of 1974. On September 8, 1974, Stanko Todorov, then Prime Minister in the 72nd government of Bulgaria, cut the tricolor ribbon and sprinkled a bucket of water for a successful start of the newly built district youth center "Atanas Manchev". The first major event in the history of the center was the presentation of the traditional awards for literature and art, at whose official ceremony the team of architects Yancho Chonkov, Nikola Dimitrov, Petko Chavdarov and Kaloyan Kaloyanov, who created the Youth Center, was additionally awarded a gold award for achievement in the field of architecture. By a decision of the Municipal Council of 29.07.1992, it was established as a Youth Cultural Center. With the then approved Statute of the MCC, it set itself the main task - to become an attractive center for the manifestation of young people's talents and for satisfying their cultural needs. Over time, the center has established itself as a cultural, informational and creative center for young people, a place for entertainment and training in their free time. In 2008, the cultural institution was partially renovated with European funds won by the Municipality of Burgas under the OP "Regional Development 2007 - 2013". As the legal successor of the former Youth Center, the MCC preserves and develops the activities of various schools in various areas. Among them, with a long tradition and experience since the founding of the center are the choir school "Milka Stoeva", the sports dance club "Burgas 75", the folklore dance ensemble "Nikola Ginov", the sports club "Black Style Dune". Youth Cultural Center is registered as a cultural organization under No. 4 (1026) of 20.01.2014 in the register of the Ministry of Culture under Art. 14, para. 4 of the Law on Protection and Development of Culture. Since May 1, 2024, Youth Cultural Center is under the umbrella of Municipal Enterprise "International Youth Cultural Center", which also operates another building: International Youth Center, with address: city of Burgas, zh.k. "Meden Rudnik", ul. "Apostol Voyvoda" 15.
