"Peyo K. Yavorov" Regional Library

The history of the Burgas Municipal Library begins in 1888, with its first home being the shop of Chapkanoğlu on Sts. Cyril and Methodius Street — an address to which it would return 133 years later. After decades of relocations and a fragmented collection, on 1 April 2021 the library finally settled into its new Centre for Contemporary Art and Library, built on the initiative of the Municipality of Burgas and Mayor Dimitar Nikolov. The building brings together the entire library collection under one roof for the first time, and gives the library a dignified, distinctly European character.
