Petya Dubarova House-Museum

4.5

Having become a symbol of Burgas through her original poetic works, impressions, fairy tales and short stories, Petya Dubarova is one of Bulgaria's eternally young creative souls. She was born in 1962 and took her own life at the age of just 17. The establishment of the Petya Dubarova House-Museum is a natural consequence of people's desire to connect with the authentic spirit and atmosphere in which the poetess created her work. The museum was opened in 1995 in the childhood home of Bulgaria's youngest poet — Petya Dubarova. In the house where Petya lived, visitors can explore various exhibitions as well as the authentically recreated personal room of the poetess. Beyond its character as a museum, the house is also known for the many events that enrich the city's cultural calendar each year — among them the National Literary Competition "Petya Dubarova," the Summer Workshop, and others.
