French Cinema at the Library: Screening of En fanfare
Our Library invites you to a special screening of the French film En fanfare (2024), part of our French Cinema program in collaboration with the French Institute. The film was presented in the Cannes Première section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. En fanfare is a warm and deeply human story about two brothers whom fate was never meant to bring together. Blending humor with heartfelt emotion, the film explores family, music, and the power of human connection. Thibaut is a world-renowned conductor who travels the globe. When he discovers that he was adopted, he learns that he has a brother, Jimmy, a school cafeteria worker who plays the trombone in a community brass band in northern France. At first glance, the two brothers seem to have nothing in common except their love of music. But when Thibaut recognizes his brother's extraordinary musical talent, he sets out to change Jimmy's destiny and right a profound injustice that has shaped their lives. Free admission! We look forward to welcoming you for an inspiring evening of French cinema!
